GATE 2027 Registration Starts Aug 14: Fees, Eligibility, DigiLocker Steps

GATE 2027 application process will begin from August 14, 2026 from gate2027.iitm.ac.in. Before starting the filling of application form, you have to create an account in your name on the official portal of DigiLocker.

Last date to fill the GATE examination form is September 21, 2026 (without late fee). If you miss this deadline, then you can fill it till September 30, 2026 but you will have to pay late fee.

GATE 2027 Examination will be held for 6 days on 3 weekends in February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027 by IIT Madras. Computer based examination will be held in 2 shifts and 30 subjects.

How to fill the GATE Application Form at GOAPS

To start, make sure that you have updated all the details on your DigiLocker account. This is because the GOAPS will pull these details while you are registering. After the form is released, the following procedure should be followed:

• Create an account on the GOAPS website and register to receive your ID and password for registration
• Login to the site, fill in the necessary details and undergo live face recognition
• Upload your valid ID, photo, and signature
• Submit the form after paying the registration fee
• Save the confirmation page

How to sign up for DigiLocker for GATE 2027

Not registered for a DigiLocker account yet? Follow these steps to register for it:

• Visit the official website: https://www.digilocker.gov.in/
• Tap on the “Login/Signup” button in the upper right corner
• Enter your mobile number and proceed
• Enter your Aadhaar number and proceed further
• Type the 6-digit security PIN
• Your Aadhaar card will be displayed on your screen after verification.

Done. You have completed the account registration process before the actual registration begins.

The application process is open to applicants who are either in their 3rd or final year of a bachelor’s degree program or have already obtained their bachelor’s degree. Accepted Degrees for GATE 2027:

• Humanities

Make sure to submit your application before the deadline. Forms will not be accepted by the GOAPS beyond September 30, 2026, regardless of the payment of late fees.
