IIT Roorkee to Close GATE 2025 Defect Rectification Window Today – Apply Now

Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R), will close the defect correction facility for GATE 2025 candidates today. Candidates who have discrepancies in their applications will have to correct them by the stipulated time. Failing to do so, their results will be withheld.

As per the official timetable, GATE 2025 results will be released on March 19, 2025. Candidates can verify their scores on the official websites gate2025.iitr.ac.in and goaps.iitr.ac.in.
Important information for candidates
According to an official announcement, "Defect correction for provisional/defective candidates is now open till March 15, 2025. These candidates will have to log in through the GOAPS portal and correct the issues to avoid their results being withheld."
Candidates will have to visit goaps.iitr.ac.in to correct any issues mentioned in their application forms. Except for the “Category” field, changes will be allowed in all other details. Additionally, any discrepancy found during the counselling session may result in the candidate’s result being withheld.
GATE 2025 Scorecard and Exam Details
The GATE 2025 scorecard will contain the section-wise marks, overall score, and All India Rank (AIR). Only candidates who clear the cut-off will get their official scorecards.
The exam was conducted from February 1 to 16, 2025, on 30 different test papers in various subjects. Valid GATE 2025 scores can be used for admission to the following:
➤ Master’s and direct PhD programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities.
➤ Doctoral programmes in relevant subjects, sponsored by the Ministry of Education and other government organisations.

➤ For comparison, the GATE 2024 cut-off was different across all streams. The highest cut-off was in Humanities and Social Sciences (Psychology) with 52.7 for general category students. In contrast, the lowest cut-off was in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mathematics and Mining Engineering with a minimum of 25.
➤ Applicants are requested to make the necessary corrections before the last date so that they do not face any problem in their result.

Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc Bangalore) has released the GATE cut-off 2024 marks for various programmes under several categories.
The GATE cut-off 2024 for Humanities and Social Sciences (Psychology) is the highest with 52.7 for general category candidates and papers including Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mathematics and Mining Engineering have the lowest GATE 2024 cut off with 25.
