The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 schedule, giving students a clear roadmap for the upcoming academic year. The exam will be conducted in two sessions, giving candidates multiple opportunities to improve their scores.

Along with the schedule, the NTA has announced several measures to enhance accessibility, including expanding the number of exam centers and implementing an Aadhaar-based application process.

JEE Main 2026: Key Dates

The exam will be conducted in computer-based testing (CBT) mode for both sessions.

Session 1:

  • Application window: Opens in October 2025
  • Exam dates: January 21-30, 2026

Session 2:

  • Application window: Opens in the last week of January 2026
  • Exam dates: April 1-10, 2026

This schedule allows students to plan their preparation with ample time for revision between sessions.

More Cities and Better Support

To make the exam more accessible, the NTA is increasing the number of exam cities, reducing travel for students from remote areas.

Special arrangements will be made for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), ensuring an inclusive and equitable exam environment.

Aadhaar-Based Application Process

Aadhaar authentication will be used to simplify registration and reduce errors.

  • Automatic Data Fetch: Candidate details such as name, date of birth, gender, and address will be pre-populated using Aadhaar.
  • Name Discrepancy Resolution: Students with different names on their Aadhaar and Class 10 certificates can correct them during registration.
  • Manual Entry: Parents'/guardians' names must be entered manually, as Aadhaar does not capture this information.

The NTA emphasizes that these measures are aimed at maintaining accuracy, transparency, and fairness in the exam process.

Important Information

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official JEE Main website (jeemain.nta.ac.in) for detailed information and updates regarding the registration and examination procedures.
