The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam will be conducted from January 21 to January 29, 2026. While the B.E./B.Tech. Paper 1 will take place on 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 January, 2026, B.Arch./B.Planning Paper 2 will be held on 29th January 2026. The exam will be conducted in two shifts.

To avoid any inconvenience on the exam day, candidates should be aware of the guidelines and instructions issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates need to carry their JEE Main 2026 admit card, photo identity proof, photograph, self-declaration form, transparent water bottle, and disability or caste certificate (if applicable).

Certain items are prohibited in the examination hall, and candidates must ensure they do not carry them.

Candidates are advised to reach the examination center two hours before the start of the exam to avoid missing any instructions. List of Documents to Carry on JEE Main 2026 Session - 1 Exam Day

Candidates appearing for the JEE Main 2026 exam will have to present the documents specified on the NTA portal to the invigilator. As per the JEE Main rules and regulations, the following documents will be required on the JEE Main 2026 exam day:

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card – Candidates are required to bring a printed copy of the JEE Main 2026 admit card and the self-declaration form. This form must be downloaded from the official NTA website, duly filled, and printed on A4 size paper.

One Passport Size Photograph – It is mandatory to bring a recent color passport-size photograph, the same one uploaded on the JEE Main 2026 application form, to the examination center. This photograph must be pasted in the designated space on the attendance register.

Authorized Photo Identity Proof – Any one of the following valid photo identity proofs: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card, Passport, Class 12th Board Admit Card with photograph, Ration Card with photograph, Bank Passbook with photograph.

Disability Certificate – Candidates claiming reservation under the PwD category must bring supporting documents issued by an authorized medical officer.

List of Items to Carry on JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Day

The list of items allowed inside the JEE Main examination hall is given below:

  • Black ballpoint pen for filling the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator.
  • A bottle of hand sanitizer (50 ml) for personal use.
  • Transparent water bottle for personal use.

What Not to Carry to the JEE Main Exam Center in 2026

Candidates appearing for the JEE Main 2026 exam should check the list of items that should not be carried to the examination center.

  • Electronic Devices: Do not bring mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or any other electronic devices.
  • Stationery Items: Avoid carrying pens, pencils, erasers, or any kind of personal stationery.
  • Bags and Luggage: Carrying handbags, purses, or any kind of bag inside the examination hall is strictly prohibited.
  • Food and Beverages: Snacks, packaged food, or beverages are not allowed, except for diabetic patients who may carry sugar tablets or fruits. Jewelry and accessories: It is best to avoid wearing large, bulky jewelry, watches, or other accessories.
  • Printed or written materials: Do not bring notes, books, or any type of textual reference materials.
