JoSAA Counselling 2024: Branch Upgradation Option Closed for 9 IITs, 16 NITs

The JoSAA Counselling 2024 registration has commenced, with 9 IITs and NITs opting out of branch upgradation based on students' first-year performance, according to career counseling expert Amit Ahuja from Allen Career Institute.

Key IITs such as Mumbai, Madras, Kharagpur, and others, along with 16 NITs including Jaipur, Allahabad, and Delhi, have discontinued branch upgradation this year.

This year's JoSAA Counselling aims to fill 865 branches across 121 colleges. The deadline for choice filling is June 18, 2024.

The schedule includes mock seat allotments: one based on choices filled by candidates as of June 14, 2024, and another based on choices filled by candidates as of June 16, 2024. These will be released on June 15 and June 17, 2024, respectively.

Registration and choice filling: June 10, 2024
Registration for AAT qualified candidates: June 14, 2024
Display of mock seat allocation-1: June 15, 2024
Display of mock seat allocation-2: June 17, 2024
JoSAA 2024 registration and choice-filling end: June 18, 2024
JoSAA seat allotment - Round 1: June 20, 2024

Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 can complete the reporting procedure from June 20 to June 24, 2024.
