The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the fifth round of seat allotment results today, July 17. This round is crucial for students aiming to join prestigious institutes like NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs, SPAs, and other-GFTIs under the NIT+ system.
Under NIT+, comprising 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, three SPAs, and 33 other-GFTIs, candidates can secure seats in undergraduate programs in engineering, technology, and architecture.
If you've received a seat in the NIT+ system during JoSAA 2024, ensure to pay the partial admission fee (PAF) by July 23. This fee is mandatory for confirming your admission.
The PAF is Rs 20,000 for SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, and ST-PwD candidates, and Rs 45,000 for all others. It's non-refundable but can be adjusted against the final institute admission fee once your admission is confirmed.
Candidates are assigned a state code of eligibility based on their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination location, aligning with states listed in the JEE Main 2024 information bulletin, regardless of their current residence.
For seat distribution, NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and PEC Chandigarh allocate seats under two categories: home state quota and other states quota. The home state quota is for candidates matching the institute's state, while the other states quota covers all other states and union territories.
