The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially announced the JoSAA 2025 registration and choice filling dates on its website – josaa.nic.in. Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2025 or JEE Advanced 2025 will be eligible to participate in JoSAA Counselling 2025 for admission to top engineering institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Here are the key dates you must know for JoSAA counselling 2025:

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2025

To participate in JoSAA 2025 counselling, you must:

• Clear JEE Main 2025 (Paper 1) for admission to NITs, IIITs & GFTIs
• Clear JEE Main 2025 (Paper 2) for B.Arch/B.Planning courses
• Clear JEE Advanced 2025 for admission to IITs

There are no separate eligibility criteria for JoSAA. However, each participating institute may have its own admission requirements.

How to Register for JoSAA 2025?

Candidates can refer to the step-by-step process of JoSAA registration and choice filling here-

Step 1: Login to JoSAA Portal -

Using JEE Main 2025 application number and password, candidates have to login to the JoSAA 2025 portal.

Step 2: JoSAA Choice Filling

• After login, click on “Choice Filling”
• Add your preferred colleges and branches from the list
• Arrange them in order of priority
• You can update/remove/reorder choices anytime before locking

Step 3: Lock Choices

Once you're sure about your preferences, lock your choices before the deadline. Choices will be auto-locked if not done manually.

Step 4: Download & Print

Take a printout of your final choice list for future reference.

JoSAA 2025 Counselling Process

JoSAA 2025 counselling will include 6 rounds of seat allocation. Candidates can check the steps below for the JoSAA choice filling process:

1. Seat Allotment – Based on your rank, preferences, and seat availability

2. Online Reporting – Pay the counselling fee, upload documents, and respond to queries if any

3. Accept the Seat – Choose one option:

• Freeze – Accept and don’t participate in further rounds
• Slide – Accept, but upgrade within same institute if possible

4. Float – Accept, but open to better institute/course in next rounds

5. Withdrawal – You can exit the process during the withdrawal window

JoSAA 2025 Seat Allocation: What’s Important?

• Mock Seat Allotments on June 9 & June 11 will help candidates understand how choices may result in allocation.
• Once a seat is allocated, you must report online, pay fees, and upload documents within the given timeline.
• Final round for IITs ends on July 22, 2025, and for NIT+ system, PAF (Partial Admission Fee) must be paid by July 27, 2025.
