KCET 2026 Round 3 Seat Allotment: KEA Announces Fresh Option Entry Rules

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a notification about KCET 2026 Round 3 seat allocation procedure. According to the notification, the options filled by the candidates in previous counseling rounds shall not be taken into account for the third round.

Eligible candidates wishing to take part in KCET Round 3 counseling 2026 shall have to fill up a new list of options for college and courses via the official option filling portal.

According to KEA, students must fill up their college and courses in proper order of preference, considering only those where they wish to take admission.

KCET 2026 Round 3: Fresh Option Entry Required

As per the notification of KEA, the candidates appearing for the third round will have to make fresh option entry. The options that were entered in the earlier rounds will not be forwarded automatically.

It is necessary for the candidates to include all the colleges and courses which they prefer, and organize them in order of their preference. After making the options, the candidate will have to save and submit his/her option list.

The KEA also advises the candidates not to choose any college/course just because the seats are available.

KCET 2026 Round 3 Seat Allotment: Seats Included

In the KCET 2026 third round seat allocation, there will be vacant seats left over from earlier rounds of allocation as well as the availability of seats arising from cancellations, forfeits, or additions of seats.

According to KEA, seat availability may vary during the counseling process owing to cancellations, forfeiture or addition of seats.

The Round 3 seat allocation exercise will be carried out for courses admitted through the UGCET admission scheme, which includes the following:

This has been made known to the candidates by KEA that there would not be any more facility for change in options after the declaration of the seat allotment result of KCET 2026, Round 3.

It is essential that candidates take care while choosing their options since the seat allotted would depend upon the merit position of the candidate and the choice options.

KEA has also given a warning to the candidates regarding the financial implications of cancellation of engineering seat after the third round.
