Why Is NTA Asking to Update Documents?

NTA wants to streamline the NEET UG 2026 registration process. The agency has asked all eligible aspirants to ensure that their documents are updated well in advance before applying. NEET UG 2026: Documents to Update Before Registration

NTA has specifically mentioned three types of documents that candidates must update:

1. Aadhaar Card

All candidates appearing for NEET UG 2026 must ensure that their Aadhaar Card is accurate, valid, and duly updated in all respects. The Aadhaar details must correctly reflect the following information:

3. Category Certificate

NEET UG 2026: Expected Exam Date

NTA has conducted the NEET UG exam in early May for the last three academic years. Based on past trends, NEET UG 2026 is expected to be held in May 2026. In 2025, the medical entrance exam was held on May 4. In 2024, the exam was conducted on May 5. In 2023, the NEET UG examination took place on May 7.

Last year, the NEET UG exam was held across 552 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Millions of candidates appeared for the exam to secure admission in medical and dental colleges across the country. NTA is expected to follow a similar pattern for NEET UG 2026.

NEET UG 2026: How to Apply Online?

Once NTA releases the NEET UG 2026 application form, candidates can follow these steps to apply:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA at nta.ac.in or neet.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the "NEET UG 2026 Registration" link available on the homepage.

Step 3: A new page will open. Enter your basic details like name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number to complete registration.

Step 4: After successful registration, you'll receive login credentials. Use them to log in.

Step 5: Fill the complete application form with personal, educational, and contact details.

Step 6: Upload your photograph, signature, and other required documents in the prescribed format.

Step 7: Make the payment of application fee through online mode.

Step 8: Click on "Submit" and download the confirmation page.

Step 9: Take a printout of the confirmation page and keep it safe for future reference.

NEET UG 2026: Aadhaar Update Process

If your Aadhaar details are incorrect or outdated, follow these steps to update:

Online Update Process:

Step 1: Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

Step 2: Log in using your Aadhaar number and OTP sent to your registered mobile.

Step 3: Select the details you want to update (Name, DOB, Gender, Address, Photo).

Step 4: Upload supporting documents as proof.

Step 5: Pay the update fee (if applicable).

Step 6: Submit the request and note the Update Request Number (URN).

Step 7: Track the status using URN.

Offline Update Process:

Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center.
