NTA to Host CUET UG 2024 on May 29 for 220 Students in Kanpur; Details Here

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold an additional shift for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 exam in Kanpur on May 29. This announcement was made by a senior NTA official to indianexpress.com.

Special Exam for Affected Students

The extra exam is for students who missed the test at the Maharana Pratap Group of Colleges on May 15 due to a mistake. On that day, English medium question papers were mistakenly given to Hindi medium students, affecting around 215 students. The special exam on May 29 is specifically for these students, and it is not considered a re-exam.

Additional Exam in Delhi

NTA will also conduct the CUET UG exam in Delhi on May 29. The Delhi exam was originally scheduled for May 14 but was postponed due to staffing issues.

No Paper Leak in CUET UG

NTA has denied any reports of a paper leak in the CUET UG exams. The incident in Kanpur was isolated and involved the wrong distribution of question papers, not a leak.

Similar Incident in NEET UG

A similar issue occurred during the NEET UG exam in Rajasthan, where Hindi medium students received English medium question papers. The affected students took their exam the same day, on May 5.

CUET UG 2024 Exam Details

The CUET UG 2024 exams began on May 15 and are being conducted at 2,157 centers across India and in 26 cities internationally. The University Grants Commission (UGC) reported a 75% attendance rate on the first day. Here are some specifics:

• Chemistry: 643,752 candidates in 1,640 centers
• Biology: 363,067 candidates in 1,368 centers
• English: 862,209 candidates in 2,077 centers
• General Studies: 721,986 candidates in 1,892 centers

On May 16, exams were held in 1,578 centers with the following attendance rates:

• Economics: 85% (309 centers)
• Hindi: 78% (102 centers)
• Physics: 77% (322 centers)
• Mathematics/Applied Mathematics: 78% (319 centers)
