IIT Hyderabad : Biomedical Engineering

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has announced the country's first Bachelor of Technology program in Biomedical Engineering—BTech-BME. Students can take admission to the BTech program in BME by appearing for the JEE Advanced examination. Biology at 10+2 level is not a mandatory requirement.

The course structure shall be including medical instrumentation and systems biology, health-care data analytics, 3D bioprinting, medical optics and imaging, nanomedicine, neurotechnology, biomechanics, neuromorphic engineering, and medical data modeling and simulation.

Each of the students will receive training in basic biomedical engineering during the first two years and specialize in one of these areas.

IIT Indore - Space Science and Engineering

A B.Tech student or a Dual Degree student in any discipline can opt for an upgrade under this programme on the basis of CGPA in five semesters and above of 8.0, and be a student of IIT Madras. The award of the degree will be governed by the rules of the Institute pertaining to Dual Degree specialization.

Among the subjects that the enrolled students will be exposed to include quantum information, coherent and quantum optics, superconductivity and its applications, ultrafast lasers and their applications, advanced photonics laboratory, integrated optoelectronic devices and circuits, and advanced topics in cryptography. For instance, students can undertake internships at companies such as Bosch and Adobe or in the faculties at top-ranked universities like RWTH Aachen and ETH Zurich.
