CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Latest Update: Board Denies Evaluation Delays, Confirms May Release on Track

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has denied reports of any delay in the evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets and confirmed that the results will be declared on time.

According to the Board, the evaluation is moving smoothly under the new on-screen marking (OSM) system, and students can expect their results in the third week of May.

CBSE Says Evaluation Is Going 'Better Than Before'

"My evaluation is going very perfectly, better than the previous evaluation," Bhardwaj said, while pointing out that the Board is "proud" of rolling out the OSM system at full scale this year.

The digital evaluation system, brought in to make checking faster and reduce manual errors, marks a major shift from the traditional paper-based assessment process.

Board Refutes Media Reports of Delay

Pushing back against concerns raised in some media reports, Bhardwaj said, "I refute each and every thing which has been stated in some media news portal. These are false, and everything is perfectly fine. We are so proud that we have started this process."

Positive Feedback From Teachers and Evaluators

Bhardwaj also shared that evaluators across centres have responded positively to the new system, showing wider acceptance of the digital shift.

"They are sending me selfies, photographs, and messages thanking us, saying they are fortunate to work with this system," he said. According to him, the response has been so encouraging that even teachers who weren't assigned evaluation duties have shown interest in joining the process.

Why CBSE Switched to On-Screen Evaluation

The CBSE had earlier shared that the move to on-screen evaluation is meant to improve efficiency, cut down delays, and bring more consistency to the marking process.

The system lets evaluators check scanned answer scripts digitally. This makes score compilation faster and removes the logistical challenges that come with moving physical answer sheets between centres.

Evaluation On Schedule, Says CBSE

On the progress of the evaluation, Bhardwaj confirmed that it's moving "as per schedule," which means the timelines haven't been affected despite the switch to a new system.

When asked about the result declaration, he stuck to the Board's earlier timeline and said students can expect their results in the third week of May.

"The results will be declared when they are prepared. People should wait till then," he said.
