CISCE Revises ISC Class 11 & 12 Syllabus for 2025 & 2026 Exams – Check Changes

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has made changes in the syllabus of some subjects of class 11 and class 12 for the academic session 2024-25 and examination year 2025. The revised syllabus and its scope of Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 11 and Class 12 is available on the council's website - cisce.org under the 'Library (Publications)' tab.

The syllabus of ISC Class 12 has been changed for the 2025 examinations. It includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Commerce, Accountancy, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology and Legal Studies. The council said that no change has been made in the syllabus and scope of the remaining subjects.

At the same time, for class 11, the syllabus has been changed for only four subjects - Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and History in the academic session 2024-25. This means that the syllabus of all other subjects will remain the same.

The CISCE has asked the heads of schools to communicate the changes in the ISC Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus to all students, teachers, parents and guardians.

Meanwhile, the CISCE 2025 exams are also almost over. The ICSE Class 10 exams ended on March 27 and the ISC Class 12 exams on April 5. Now the council will declare the results of both the classes in May 2025. The results will be made available online on the council's website cisce.org itself, and will not be available from the CISCE office in New Delhi.

The CISCE has also announced that students will get the option to take improvement exams in any two subjects of their Class 10 and Class 12 in the same year (i.e. in the exam year 2025 itself), so that they can improve their marks and grades. Also, the compartment exam system has been abolished in Class 10 (ICSE) exams from 2024, which means students will no longer have the option to take compartment exams.

Last year, in 2024, the ICSE Class 10 exams ended on March 28 and ISC Class 12 exams ended on April 3, and the results were declared on May 6. This year too, the results are likely to be declared in May itself.
