GATE 2025 Registration Starts Today: Everything You Need to Know Before Applying

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will begin registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today, August 28. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

The last date to apply without a late fee is September 26, while the deadline with a late fee is October 7.

The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, with two shifts each day. Candidates can choose to appear for up to two papers.

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates in their 3rd year or higher of any undergraduate degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities are eligible.
Those with a government-approved degree or professional society certification equivalent to BE/BTech/BArch/BPlanning, etc., can also apply.
International candidates must be in their 3rd year or higher or have completed a Bachelor’s degree (minimum three years) in the relevant fields.

Documents Needed for GATE 2025 Application:

A high-quality image of the candidate’s photograph, as specified in the information brochure.
A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature, as required.
Scanned copy of the SC/ST certificate in PDF format, if applicable.
Scanned copy of the PwD certificate in PDF format, if applicable.
Scanned copy of the Dyslexia certificate in PDF format, if applicable.
Scanned copy of a valid photo ID (Aadhar-UID preferred, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License).
The photo ID must include the candidate’s name, date of birth, and a unique identification number. The original ID will be required on exam day for verification.

GATE 2025 Application Fee:

Regular period: ₹900 for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates; ₹1,800 for others.
Extended period: ₹1,400 for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates; ₹2,300 for others.
