GATE, JAM 2025 Exam Center Update : Exam Centers Shifted in Prayagraj Due to Mahakumbh - Official Notice Out

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and IIT Delhi have announced changes in the exam centres for GATE 2025 and JAM 2025 due to the Maha Kumbh event in Prayagraj. Candidates scheduled to take exams at Prayagraj on February 1 and 2, 2025, will now appear at exam centres in Lucknow.
According to the notice, these candidates will now take the exam at centres in Lucknow. Similarly, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced that candidates appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JAM) 2025 at Prayagraj on February 2, 2025 will also take the exam in Lucknow. The decision to change the exam centres has been taken in view of the Maha Kumbh.
The official notice reads, 'Based on the representations received from many candidates expressing their difficulty in reaching the examination centres at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh in connection with the huge crowd of devotees expected to attend the Maha Kumbh on 1st and 2nd February, 2025, the examinations scheduled at the centres at Prayagraj have been shifted to the centres at Lucknow on the respective GATE and JAM examination days (1st and 2nd February 2025 for GATE and 2nd February 2025 for JAM respectively).'

A total of five exam centres for GATE 2025 have been shifted from Prayagraj to Lucknow, while a total of four exam centres have been shifted for JAM 2025.
As per the notice, new admit cards have been issued for those GATE 2025 and JAM 2025 candidates whose centres have been changed. Candidates can download these from the official websites gate2025.iitr.ac.in and jam2025.iitd.ac.in.
IIT Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 on February 1, 2, 15 and 16, while IIT Delhi will conduct JAM 2025 on February 2, 2025.
