The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will start the registration process from June 3, 2025. Candidates will be able to register by visiting the official website josaa.nic.in.

JoSAA 2025 Eligibility Criteria for IIT, NIT, IIEST, IIIT & Other GFTIs Admission

Candidates must meet specific academic and exam requirements to participate in JoSAA 2025 counselling. Check the detailed eligibility below for IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST, and GFTIs.

Admission for IITs: Only on the basis of JEE Advanced

Students can get admission in IITs only by clearing JEE Advanced. All IITs will participate in JoSAA 2025.

For NITs, IIITs and GFTIs: JEE Main is mandatory

JEE Main score is mandatory for admission in these institutes. JoSAA allots seats on the basis of these scores.

JoSAA Counselling 2025 – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How many institutes are involved in JoSAA counselling?

JoSAA 2025 will offer admission in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur and 47 GFTIs. A total of 128 government institutes participate.

2. Can JoSAA help in getting admission in a private college?

No, JoSAA counselling is only for government institutes (IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs). It does not lead to admission in private colleges.

3. Who is eligible for JoSAA counselling?

Candidates who have cleared JEE Main or JEE Advanced can participate in JoSAA counselling 2025. They have to register on time and fill in the options.

4. What if you do not get a seat in Round 1?

JoSAA conducts counselling in multiple rounds. If you do not get a seat in Round 1, you can participate in the subsequent rounds. A special round is also conducted.

5. What is the process of JoSAA registration?

Candidates can register by visiting the official website of JoSAA. After registration, college and branch options have to be filled, then the seat allotment rounds begin.

6. Is there document verification after JoSAA counselling?

Yes, after seat allotment, candidates have to visit the reporting centre or institute for document verification. It is important to carry the required documents on time.
