NEET UG 2026 Update: Medical aspirants in Bihar may get relief soon. The state government is planning to increase MBBS seats across all government medical colleges. According to reports, each medical college in Bihar may add 30 additional MBBS seats. This will boost the overall intake capacity for NEET UG 2026 admissions.

The Bihar Health Department has directed principals of all government medical colleges to start the seat enhancement process. Colleges have been asked to submit proposals through the National Medical Commission (NMC) seat expansion portal. They must follow prescribed norms and timelines for approval, as reported by Media Reports.

Which Medical Colleges Will Get More Seats?
If NMC grants approval, several medical colleges will see their intake increase significantly. Colleges currently admitting 120 students annually will see their capacity rise to 150 MBBS seats.
The following colleges are expected to benefit from this seat increase:
