The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 choice filling and choice locking deadline. Candidates can now fill and lock their preferences until 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026.

The Round 1 counselling process is being conducted for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ). As per the revised schedule, the NEET UG 2026 Round 1 choice filling window, which opened on August 7, will remain active until August 18.

Candidates who haven't completed their choices yet should submit their preferences before the revised deadline.

MCC has also extended the choice locking facility. Candidates can lock their final college and course preferences from 5:30 PM on August 17 to 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026.

Candidates are advised to review their preferences carefully before locking the choices.

How to Fill Choices for NEET UG Counselling 2026?

The following steps can help the candidates fill their choice form for NEET UG 2026 Round 1:

• Go to the official NEET UG MCC website www.mcc.nic.in
• Click on the NEET UG Counselling registration or candidate login button.
• Login with the needed credentials.
• Choose Choice Filling option from the list.
• Choose the colleges and courses you prefer.
• Arrange the chosen options in the order of your choice.
• Make sure to go through all the preferences once.
• You can add, delete or arrange the options as per need.
• Save your choices and lock them before the deadline.

Candidates who have registered themselves can only make use of the NEET UG Round 1 Choice Filling Process. The candidates must make sure to go through the order of the colleges and courses because it will be used to allocate seats in Round 1 counselling process.

The candidates should not forget to lock their choices by 11:59 PM of August 18, 2026.
