CBSE Class 12 Science Topper: Bokaro NEET Aspirant Tops After Biology Re-Evaluation; Details Inside

With Ranchi girl Avni Kejriwal getting 500/500 after her score was corrected in re-evaluation, another CBSE Class 12 student Aditya Mishra got 498/500 after his Biology score increased to 3 marks.

"I would like to serve mankind as a doctor," Aditya told TOI on Tuesday, when talking about his journey of improvement in marks in the best five subjects.

The result of CBSE Class 12 was declared on May 13 in which Aditya scored 99.20%, securing 96 marks in Biology. But, on the suggestion of his teachers, he applied for the re-evaluation of paper. "My teachers thought the score was less than expected. As I was busy preparing for the NEET examination, I did not pay much attention to it," Aditya said. In this regard, he, along with his parents and teachers, got the paper evaluated again where his marks improved by three marks to 99.

In all, he secured 100 marks each in English Core, Chemistry, and Painting subjects, and 99 marks each in Physics and Biology. He shared the top rank position in the Science stream with Sonakshi Goyal, a student from Kanpur.

Speaking on the performance of his student, DPS Bokaro principal A S Gangwar said that he was very much proud of Aditya. "He is a consistent and attentive student. As Biology has always been his favourite subject and he has been preparing for the NEET examination. On seeing his marks in Biology, we had thought of challenging it for re-evaluation," he added.

Son of chief general manager (finance) at SAIL Refractory Unit Prajesh Chandra Mishra and housewife Sushmita Mishra, Aditya also appeared for the re-examination of NEET-UG test on Sunday due to cancellation of his test of May.

"I appeared for the re-examination and hoping to get good results," he said.

In his routine, he studied for five to six hours daily with the help of mobile and laptop.
