Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) has wrapped up phase one of its campus placements for the 2025-26 batch. The placement drive took place in three modes – on-campus, virtual, and hybrid. This made it easier for both recruiters and students to participate.

More than 250 companies from different sectors took part in this phase. They made a total of 1,202 job offers. Out of these, students accepted 1,079 offers. This number also includes pre-placement offers (PPOs).

International Offers and Global Opportunities

One of the biggest highlights was 15 students getting international job offers. These offers came from companies in Europe, Japan, Korea, and the United States. IIT Kanpur expects more global opportunities in phase two. The next phase will start from mid-January 2026.

What IIT Kanpur Director Said

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, shared his thoughts on the placement results. He said the success of phase one shows the hard work and industry-readiness of students. He also praised the Students' Placement Office for managing a smooth and flexible process.

He added that IIT Kanpur remains committed to developing talent that can contribute to both national and global growth. The institute looks forward to more success in the upcoming phases.

Record-Breaking Day 1 Placements

IIT Kanpur students made history on day one of the placement season. On December 1, they received 672 job offers. This is the highest day one tally ever recorded at the institute.

Compared to last year, day one placements saw a 16% increase. Some results are still pending, so the final count may go even higher.

Pre-Placement Offers See Major Growth

Pre-placement offers played a big role in this year's placement success. The institute recorded 253 PPOs. This is a 27% increase compared to last year.

Overall, placements saw a 20% rise compared to the previous season. Additionally, nine students secured overseas job offers on day one itself.
