JEE Main 2026 Cut-Off Increases - Tougher Road to JEE Advanced; Check Qualifying Marks
The results for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 were declared on April 20, 2026. This year, the cutoff for JEE Advanced 2026 has increased across all categories compared to the previous year. The cutoff for the General Category stood at 93.4 Percentile.

Why did the Cutoff Increase this Year?
This year, a total of 1,604,854 unique candidates registered for both sessions of JEE Main 2026, out of which 1,538,468 students actually appeared for the examination. With the rise in competition, the cutoff has also moved upward. An increase in the cutoff has been recorded across all categories this year compared to the previous year.

Category-Wise Reservation — How were the seats distributed?
The category-wise distribution of the 250,000 seats for JEE Advanced 2026 is as follows: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is Open to all. Additionally, a 5% horizontal reservation has been provided for PwD candidates within each category.
Session-Wise Registration Statistics
Session 1 was held in January 2026, during which 1,355,293 candidates registered, and 1,304,653 appeared for the exam. Session 2 was held between April 2 and April 8, 2026, recording 1,110,904 registrations, with 1,034,330 candidates appearing for the exam. A total of 861,343 candidates registered for both sessions, out of whom 800,516 candidates appeared for both sessions.
What will the Scorecard contain?
For candidates who appeared for the exam in both sessions, the scorecard will display the following information: the best NTA Score obtained across both sessions, subject-wise percentiles for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, the Overall NTA Score, All India Rank (AIR), Category Rank, and the JEE Advanced 2026 Qualification Status.

Registration for JEE Advanced 2026 will commence on April 23, 2026, and will close on May 2, 2026. The deadline for fee payment is May 4, 2026. If you have qualified, do not delay—complete your registration as soon as possible.
