Seat allotment of JoSAA counselling round-2 for admission in IIT, NIT, TRIPTI and GFTI will be released today. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the seat allotment result on the official website josaa.nic.in at 5 pm today.

Candidates who will be allotted a seat will have to pay the seat acceptance fee within the stipulated time limit and upload the required documents and report online.

If the candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, he can also choose the option of upgradation in the next round. This year, admission is being given in 23 IITs, 32 NITs, 26 TRIPTIs and 47 GFTIs by JoSAA counselling.

Students will be given the option of Freeze, Float and Slide in online reporting. If the student is satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round and does not want to participate in further counselling then he can choose the Freeze option.

How to Check JoSAA Round 2 Allotment Result 2025

Go to the official website, josaa.nic.in.
On the home page, open the ‘Round 2 Seat Allotment Result’ link given under the candidate activity board.
Enter your JEE Main 2025 application number, password and the security pin.
Submit, your allotment result will be displayed on the screen.
If selected, download and take a printout of the allotment order.

Those students who want to participate in further counselling also, will have to choose the option of Float and Slide. By using the Float option, the student will get the chance of upward movement to any college branch filled in the college preference list during choice filling on his allotted college and by using the Slide option.

Earlier, the schedule of JoSAA counseling was changed. After the first round of seat allotment, the joining and reporting time was extended to the candidates. These candidates were given time till June 22. The allotment of the third round will be on July 2, the fourth on July 06 and the fifth on July 11. The seat allocation of the last i.e. sixth round will be on July 16.

JoSAA counseling will provide admission to 62,853 seats in 128 colleges including IIT-NIT, TripleIT and GFTI. This includes 18160 seats of 23 IITs, 24525 seats of 32 NITs, 9940 seats of 26 TripleITs and 10228 seats of 47 GFTIs.

Seat Allotment will Depend on these Things

(i) Category of the candidate [General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, General-PWD, General-EWS-PWD, OBC-NCL-PWD, SC-PWD, ST-PWD].

(ii) Position of the candidate in the respective rank list.

(iii) Order of preference of the course chosen by the candidate.

(iv) Availability of seats in various seat categories / seat quotas for which the candidate is eligible.

Documents Required for Online Reporting, keep these Documents Ready

After seat allocation in JoSAA counseling, students will have to scan and upload 10th, 12th mark sheets, JEE Main / Advanced admit card, category certificate, photocopy of cancelled cheque, medical certificate etc. in online reporting. EWS and OBC students will have to submit category certificate after April 1, 2025.
