JoSAA Round 5 Cutoff 2026 for Artificial Intelligence: Check College-Wise Ranks

JoSAA Cutoff 2026 Round 5 was announced by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority on July 16, 2026. Students can verify their cutoff ranks and seat allotment status from the official website at josaa.nic.in.

The JoSAA Cutoff is published in the format of opening and closing ranks. It reflects the lowest and highest ranks at which the seats are allotted to the students in a certain institute, branch, category, and quota.

Students having their ranks within the JoSAA opening and closing ranks range have higher chances of getting admitted into their desired institute and engineering branch.

JoSAA Round 5 is the last round of JoSAA counselling. Those candidates who opted for the float and slide option in previous rounds should finalize their seat allotted in this round or leave the counselling process.

Vacant seats after JoSAA Round 5 are allotted through the Central Seat Allocation Board special counselling procedure. It is known as CSAB Special Counselling process.

Institutes that have reported the stiffest cut-offs for Artificial Intelligence programs are IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kharagpur. The end rank of IIT Hyderabad is 917 and the end rank of IIT Kharagpur is 1026.

The other institutes have wide rank variations. The end rank for IIIT Vadodara is 32,611 while the cut-off rank for IIITVICD is 47,316.

JoSAA AI Cutoff 2026: Key Highlights

The cut-off rank for Artificial Intelligence offered by IIT Hyderabad was the lowest in JoSAA Round 5. The admission to the BTech Artificial Intelligence programme of IIT Hyderabad closed at 917th rank.

Another competitive institute in consideration was IIT Kharagpur. The Artificial Intelligence programme of IIT Kharagpur had a cut-off rank opening of 693 and a cut-off rank closing of 1026.

From the list of National Institutes of Technology, the most competitive cutoff of candidates from Other State was recorded by NIT Surathkal. NIT Surathkal’s AI programme closed at 2445th rank.

The cut-off rank for Other State of NIT Rourkela closed at 4960th rank whereas the cut-off rank for the Home State was raised to 11446.

Artificial Intelligence cut-off rank for Other State candidates at SVNIT Surat was 11292 while for Home State candidates it was 13008.

The candidates need to be careful in comparing their JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank to the corresponding institution, category, seat type and quota for their chance of admission.
