MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026: OCI and NRI Candidates Must Verify Document Checklist

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced an important notice for Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) candidates participating in the counselling procedure. According to the notice issued on 6th August 2026, OCI and NRI candidates who wish to obtain admission through the NRI Quota have to get their credentials verified by MCC’s NRI Document Verification Team before the choice-filling procedure starts.

This requirement has been clarified clearly by the MCC that OCI and NRI candidates require document verification for proving their eligibility as NRI candidates. This process is mandatory, and candidates are advised to complete the procedure at the earliest in order to avoid any issue in counselling.

Upon getting the documents verified and being found eligible as NRI candidates, candidates will be able to look at the NRI quota seats as well as Indian UR seats during the choice filling procedure.

OCI and NRI Candidates must Complete Document Verification

According to the notice, for those candidates who intend to avail themselves of the seats available under the NRI quota, they must get their documentation verified prior to counseling proceeding to the stage of seat filling. Candidates have been advised by MCC not to wait until the eleventh hour for getting their documentation verified. They risk losing out on their chances of securing an NRI quota seat in counseling.

This procedure of document verification will be conducted by the NRI Document Verification Committee of MCC.

Select 'Yes' for NRI Quota During Registration

MCC has also instructed the aspirants to choose the "Yes" option for "Whether you want to apply for NRI Quota seats" during counselling registration. Only then would the eligible aspirants be able to compete for NRI Quota seats post verification.

The committee once again emphasized that all OCI and NRI aspirants should complete verification before the start of the choice filling process.
