NCERT Class 9 Books 2026-27 Released: Download New Maths Textbook, Check Social Science Update

Class 9 books have been published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The Mathematics book has already been published, whereas the Social Science book will be published on 30th September, 2026.

These revised books have been introduced owing to the change in curriculum under the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023. This is to cater to the needs of the students of Class 9.

NCERT has informed that the new Mathematics Class 9 book, titled Ganita Manjari – Part 2, will be made available for sale from 21st September, 2026. Students and teachers can purchase this book from the authorised sellers of NCERT.

NCERT Class 9 Mathematics Textbook Available from September 21

With the release of Ganita Manjari – Part 2, there has been an introduction of the very first textbook launch under the newly updated syllabus of Class 9 for the academic year 2026-27.

Students and schools who need this revised version of Mathematics books can buy them from the following sources:

• Amazon

It has been advised by NCERT to buy textbooks from authentic sources only.

New NCERT Class 9 Social Science Book Release Date

The revised Class 9 Social Science textbook, Understanding Society: India & Beyond – Part 2, will be available from September 30, 2026.

After its release, students and schools will be able to purchase the book through the same authorised channels, including NCERT sales centres, the official website and Amazon.

NCERT Class 9 Revised Textbooks Based on NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023

These newly introduced Class 9 books have been written in accordance with the curriculum framework that has been revised as per NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023.

According to NCERT, the revised textbooks will cater to the changing needs of learners and will assist schools in implementing the revised curriculum strategy.

Textbook revision is one of the phases of the NCERT initiative of introducing revised learning materials for different classes of schools.

What Students Need to Know

The newly revised Math textbook for Class 9 that will be used for the next academic year of 2026-27 is now available. The Social Science textbook will come out later on in September.

The prescribed textbooks must be bought by the students only from the authorized sources of NCERT to get the right edition.
