For NEET UG 2024 counselling, students need to register at mcc.nic.in. This registration is necessary to participate in the counselling process once the notification is released.

It is important to note that registering on the portal does not guarantee a seat in any medical college. Admission depends on meeting the merit, admission criteria, eligibility, and other requirements set by the universities, medical institutions, Medical Council of India, and state or central government.

State and central counselling are conducted by different bodies. The Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare conducts NEET UG counselling at the central level. They manage online counselling for 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats for UG courses, 50% of AIQ seats for PG courses, and 100% of seats in super-specialty courses (DM/MCh).

Reservation policy for 15% AIQ-UG:

SC: 15%
ST: 7.5%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list: 27%
EWS as per Central Government norms: 10%
PwD Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms: 5%
