The National Testing Agency (NTA) has just released the updated NEET UG Scorecard 2024 today, July 25, 2024. This update follows a Supreme Court order due to confusion over a Physics question. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said on July 23, 2024, that the new results would be available in two days.

The initial results, announced on June 4, 2024, showed 67 students sharing the top rank. But after the Supreme Court reviewed the situation and got advice from experts at IIT-Delhi, only one answer was accepted for the disputed question. This change affects about 4.2 lakh students who had picked the earlier answer. Because of this, the number of top scorers will drop from 61 to around 17.

Here’s what happened during the Supreme Court's decision on July 23, 2024:

• Paper Leak Confirmed: The court confirmed that the NEET UG 2024 paper was leaked in Patna and Hazaribagh.
• CBI Investigation: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will keep investigating the leaks.
• No Change in Admission Process: The court allowed the counseling and admission processes to continue as planned. New rules will be set to improve future exams and prevent similar problems.
• Updated Merit List: The NTA has updated the NEET UG merit list as directed by the Supreme Court. The new scorecards, showing the correct answer from the experts, were released today.

What’s Next: Counselling Process

After the NEET UG Revised Scorecard 2024 is out, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will start the registration for NEET-UG counseling. This will help determine who gets admitted to MBBS and BDS programs across India. During registration, you can choose your preferred colleges and courses.
