NEET UG 2026 Candidates Approach Supreme Court Over Alleged OMR Sheet Discrepancies

As many as six NEET UG 2026 candidates approached the apex court on Tuesday on discrepancies noted in their OMR sheets. As per the plea, the responses appearing on the OMR sheet copies uploaded by the NTA did not correspond with the responses they marked during the examination.

The plea was made before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. The petitioners seek an early hearing in the matter prior to commencement of counselling process for NEET UG 2026.

As per the lawyer, the matter pertains to six students scoring more than 600 and 650 marks. The bench consists of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana. The students claimed that the OMR sheets uploaded by the NTA had reflected responses that were not marked during the examination.

The lawyer further pointed out that the students had written to the NTA through email as well as personally visited its office, but in vain. Upon hearing the matter, the bench decided to admit the plea for hearing.

The first attempt for NEET UG 2026 exam was conducted on May 3. The exam was subsequently cancelled on account of paper leak. The re-exam was conducted by the NTA on June 21.
