NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Begins Choice Filling for All India Quota Seats; State-Wise status
MCC has begun choice filling process in Round 1 NEET UG Counselling 2026 under All India Quota (AIQ). Round 1 NEET UG counselling registration process has started from August 5, and the choice filling process has been initiated from August 7.
Candidates who have already registered can choose and sort out their courses and colleges according to the schedule made by MCC.
Reset Registration facility has also been activated for Round 1 by MCC. Candidates who have provided wrong information and made wrong choices while registering, can correct them through this unlock and reset facility. This facility will be available till 11 am of August 12, 2026.
Remember that AIQ counselling is different from NEET UG counselling conducted at state levels. Every state has its own process of registration, merit list, choice filling and seat allocation.
Below is a brief status of NEET UG counselling of each state at present.

Kerala
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, is requesting for NEET UG 2026 result information from those candidates applying for medical and allied medical courses using the KEAM 2026 entrance examination. The NEET 2026 information should be submitted by candidates along with correcting their applications up to 12 noon on 10th August.
The State of Kerala is yet to begin with the choice filling and allotment for the MBBS and BDS in Round 1.
Andhra Pradesh
Applications for MBBS/BDS admissions through Competent Authority Quota for the year 2026-27 have been opened by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences. Registration without late fee began on 5th August and ends at 9 pm on 12th August.
Merit list for the state would be prepared by the university in accordance with NEET UG 2026 rank and eligibility upon completion of certificate verification and grievance redressal process. Dates for choice filling and allotment in Round 1 have not been released yet.
Telangana
Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has started accepting applications from aspirants for the MBBS and BDS courses under Competent Authority Quota for the year 2026-27. The state qualified candidates' list for NEET UG 2026 has been announced by KNRUHS.
The registration process is ongoing and the last date is fixed at 6 pm on August 12. Further processes will include state merit list, web option, and seat allotment.
Karnataka
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has begun the counselling process for UGNEET 2026 for admissions to medicine and dentistry courses. This makes Karnataka a step ahead of those states which are in the midst of registering or submitting their NEET scores.
Students are advised to go by the UGNEET 2026 schedule on the KEA website for document verification and choice filling. Round one is now ongoing.
Tamil Nadu
The Medical Selection Committee of Tamil Nadu has concluded the applications process for MBBS and BDS courses. It is currently attending to issues regarding eligibility and grievances.
The portal has provisions for grievances in respect of candidates declared as ineligible under Government and Management quota. There is also an upload facility for PwD certificates and other relevant notices for other categories. The Round 1 allotment schedule is not yet announced.
Punjab
BFUHS has opened the portal for NEET UG 2026 MBBS / BDS admissions to Punjab. So, the state has moved on to the application stage.
It has not yet released any official schedule for Round 1 choice filling and seat allocation in the latest notification issued by it. The candidates should regularly check the BFUHS portal for merit list and counseling dates.
PwBD Rules Revised for NEET UG Counselling
A circular from MCC dated 7th August has been published regarding the modified procedure for PwBD in NEET UG counseling.
This circular pertains to NMC addendum and the constitution and functioning of medical evaluation and appeal boards for PwBD applicants. Instructions from state authorities on this have also been issued. For example, KNRUHS has issued a notification regarding the physical examination of PwD applicants, while Tamil Nadu has launched their PwD certificate upload portal.
