Why is CBSE releasing results early this year?
Typically, CBSE announces the Class 10 and Class 12 results simultaneously in May. However, this year, CBSE has introduced a two-board examination system. Under this system, the results for the first session will be released by the end of April, enabling the Board to conduct the second session examinations from May 15 to June 1, 2026.
Students who are not satisfied with their scores from the first session may appear for the second board examination. They are permitted to seek improvement in a maximum of three subjects.
Here are the key points you need to know regarding eligibility for the second examination:
In case of failure in one or two subjects: You will be placed in the 'Compartment' category and may appear for the examination during the second session.
In case of failure in three or more subjects: You will not be eligible for the second session and will be required to appear for the main board examinations in 2027.
