The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the schedule of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session 2, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 2 will begin during the CBSE Class 12 board exams. But there is no major clash in the Science subject, but some board exams including language papers, Home Science and Psychology coincide with the JEE Main dates.

On the first day of the JEE Main session 2 exam, CBSE has scheduled language paper exams of various subjects like Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Sindhi, Arabic, Tibetan, etc. The Class 12 Home Science exam will be held on April 3, 2025, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, while on April 4, 2025, CBSE will conduct the Psychology exam for Class 12.

Students' concerns

This clash has led to widespread concern among students and parents. Many students have reportedly approached the NTA through emails and social media, urging the agency to reconsider the exam dates. They have highlighted the enormous pressure of preparing for two high-stakes exams simultaneously and the unfairness of having to choose between them.

Despite these appeals, the NTA is yet to address the issue or announce any changes in the JEE Main schedule. As the situation unfolds, students and parents are hopeful that the NTA and CBSE will find a solution to this dilemma. Until then, students are advised to stay focused, plan strategically and stay determined to face this challenge.

Releasing the 2025 datesheet, CBSE said, “The date of conducting entrance examinations for class 12 students has been taken into consideration and efforts have been made to complete the examinations much before the entrance examinations.”

JEE Main is conducted for admission to NITs, IITs and other engineering colleges. The 2025 exam is held in two sessions- January and April. In the January session, 13,11,544 candidates had registered for Paper 1 (BE/BTech).

This year, over 17.88 lakh students are appearing for the Class 12 exams across 120 subjects. CBSE Class 12 exams will conclude on April 4, 2025.

CBSE Plans Two-Tier Exams for Science, Social Science in Class 9 & 10

CBSE may introduce Standard and Advanced levels for Science and Social Science in Class 9 and 10, similar to the existing two-tier Mathematics exam. Advanced level will focus on critical thinking, while Standard level ensures basic understanding. New textbooks with extra content for Advanced level are expected by the 2026-27 session.
