The Supreme Court has requested responses from the Centre, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and others regarding petitions seeking the cancellation of NEET UG 2024 and a court-monitored investigation into alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam.

A vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti also asked for responses from the concerned parties on separate petitions filed by the NTA, seeking the transfer of pending cases from various high courts to the apex court.
These matters have been scheduled for hearing on July 8.
One of the petitions, filed by 20 students who appeared in the exam, additionally seeks a directive for the NTA and related bodies to conduct a fresh examination.
In earlier hearings related to the NEET UG 2024, the Supreme Court emphasized that any negligence in the exam's conduct, even if minimal, should be thoroughly addressed.
The NTA administers the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test.
In response to separate petitions regarding NEET-UG 2024 grievances, the Supreme Court had previously sought replies from the Centre and the NTA regarding a plea for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into allegations of question paper leaks and other irregularities.
The NEET-UG 2024 examination was conducted on May 5 across 4,750 centers, with approximately 24 lakh candidates participating.
